Most print problems come from mixing physical size, pixel size, and export settings. Pick the task first: checking whether an image is large enough, adding bleed to a layout, building a KDP cover, or preparing downloadable wall art for buyers.
For close-viewed photo prints and book covers, 300 PPI is the usual planning target. Posters can sometimes pass at lower effective PPI because viewing distance is larger, but marketplace uploads and professional printers may still require exact dimensions.
